A new Minnesota Woodland Steward cohort will begin on February 24, 2025! Thanks to Lessard-Sams Outdoor Heritage Fund for providing outreach funds to cover the costs of woodland owners in the Hardwood Hills region (see a map here) who are interested in learning more about their land and current funding available for conservation easements.
When you submit your application, the Extension Forestry team send you the link to register for the course and a discount code if you are located within the Hardwood Hills region. Please note that submitting this application does not register you for the class - you will need to register via the link sent to you by the Extension Forestry team.
Priority registration is open for landowners in the Hardwood Hills region October 9 - October 30. After October 30, landowners outside the Hardwood Hills region are welcome to register for the course using the normal sliding scale pricing ($295 standard rate, $150 scholarship rate, $0 Tribal member rate, or $395 supporter rate). Hardwood Hills landowners will still be able to access the waived registration rate after the priority registration period.
Please complete the application form below to express your interest in joining this new class. All are welcome to apply, but be aware that the field tours will be taking place in the Hardwood Hills region. Course registration is limited to 35 people, and we will let you know if the course is full and if you have been added to the waitlist. Please note that if registering as a family, only one person from that family has to register.
You can find answers to frequently asked questions about the course here.
UMN Extension will review responses at least twice a week and send a course registration link to people who complete this form. Questions can be sent to Anna Stockstad, Extension Forester at University of Minnesota Extension (stock523@umn.edu, 218-726-6466)
